MANTECA YOUTH FOCUS CONTINUES WINNING TRADITION
AT JUNIOR STATE COMPETITION

Two members of the Manteca Youth Focus Entertainers recently
traveled to San Jose to compete in the California State Junior
Ambassador Competition. The event, sponsored by Youth Focus, Inc.,
was held March 15th and took place at Crossroads Bible Church in
San Jose, California. Young people ages 10 through 12 from across
California competed in the annual scholarship program, which awards
talent scholarships. Competitors participate in a wide variety of phases
including personality interview, communicative skills, poise & appearance
and stage arts. Top prizes include the titles of California State Junior
Ambassadress going to Victoria Ashby and Golden State Junior
Ambassadress going to Summer Vance.

Lathrop resident, Marissa Candelaria, is a 12-year old 6th grader at
Lathrop Elementary School and is currently volunteering with the
Manteca Youth Focus Entertainers. She represented her community
well receiving a Victory Award in the Communicative Skills area of
competition. She also received an award of merit and tiara as a
“California State Junior Princess”.

Another member of the MYF Entertainers, Lauren Herrington, also
received the prize of “California State Junior Princess”. The 12-year old Manteca resident is a
6th grader at Lincoln Elementary School and also earned a Victory Award in the Poise &
Appearance phase of competition.
